ELEVATE is a unique way for our students to study a National qualification through us, your studio, and Empowerdance Pty Ltd RTO 40397. We are thrilled to be an approved provider with Empowerdance where our students can use the classes they participate in with us and put them toward their Certificate. Each week Empowerdance master trainers conduct our theory classes for our students via an online classroom platform and then all of their theory assessments are uploaded and completed through the online portal, which students will have access to, using their own log in. Certificate III and IV students will have the opportunity to work alongside one of our dance teachers to gain valuable experience for some of their student teaching and teaching units. Students will also work alongside their peers for group assessments, and the nature of these qualifications allows the student to have flexibility with their learning and be marked as Competent or not yet competent.

Our Pre-Certificate Program is specially designed for young students passionate about dance performance and teaching who wish to pursue a career in dance but are not yet old enough to begin Nationally Recognised Qualifications (which Momentum also offers). This program lays the groundwork for future success by providing a strong foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of dance.

Students will complete units in:

  • Anatomy: Understanding the body and how it moves.

  • Dance History & Performance: Learning about key dance figures and techniques.

  • Teaching & Child Development: Gaining insight into effective teaching methods and understanding child development.

  • Choreography: Exploring the creative process of designing dance routines.

Each unit is tailored to suit the students' age, making complex topics accessible and engaging. The program runs as a comprehensive six-hour course on Fridays, which includes:

  • 1.5 hours of theory

  • 1.5 hours of assignments

  • 1.5 hours of technique training

  • 1 hour of dance practice, covering different genres to build versatility.

This structured yet creative environment helps students deepen their understanding of dance, hone their technical skills, and develop early teaching abilities, all while preparing them for the next step in their dance journey.

STUDENT COMMITMENT– ASSIGNMENTS

Students will be required to demonstrate what they have learnt through a series of practical and written assignments. These assignments will be worked on during class time so there should be no need to do additional work at home. Assignments will be submitted through their google classroom for a teacher to assess and mark accordingly.

Students will also need to present 1 practical dance assignment which may require them to work with students outside of the academy.

Our students will:

  • Complete their work and assessments through a reliable online portal

  • Attend all theory sessions in a live online format

  • Receive teacher support

  • Learn content that prepares them for a Certificate Program

  • Receive record of results upon completion of successful assessment

  • Learn in a limited cohort with their assigned teacher

  • Attend all of their required technique and practical classes on the 1 day
